Penguin Plunge 2017 Promo

At the start of each new year, a bunch of hardy souls brave the frigid temperatures at Murray Hill boat launch in East Boothbay to dart straight into the ocean. It's not just for the exhilarating rush, or bragging rights, but rather it raises money for a good cause. Each year elementary school students benefit with free swim lessons from the Penguin Plunge. The event also recognized an outstanding individual or organization that has made a difference in the community. This year the honorary recipient is Police Chief Bob Hasch whose commitment to fight substance abuse alongside the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council has been remarkable within the region. Join us January 1 at 11 a.m. for the Penguin Plunge!
